VOLUNTEER MATCH-DAY STEWARDS NEEDED URGENTLY
As the new season looms large we urgently need to add to our volunteer list of match-day Stewards to help the Club meet its safety requirements and, equally as important, ensure that we collect Entrance monies from non-Club members attending our home games.
We are also looking for one of our Stewards to take on a lead co-ordination role supported by theSina graham, the Club’s Community Development Manager and others.
Some of our long-serving (and suffering) Stewards are not available this coming season so the Club would like you to volunteer to help out at as many games as you can. If we could get a squad of 20 or so people you would only have to help out at every 2nd or 3rd game rather than every game as our committed team from the last few seasons have had to do. Some training/ briefing on safety issues is provided and Match-day Stewards are given a voucher for a drink and snack too.
The range of tasks is not physically arduous but does require some standing about before and during the game. Some tasks, such as gate duty, are completed not later than half-time. Some of the tasks such as programme selling and taking gate money could be done by our older Youth members too.
The stewarding positions/roles we need to cover are the following.
• Roving Steward; 1 steward. (Lead Steward)
• Members gate in the building; 2 stewards, including Terrace supervision
• Main turnstiles; 2 stewards, including programme sales
• Main gate; 1 steward (To allow entry to the main sports facility but to stop people trying to get in for free)
• Main stand; 2 stewards (To assist people to the stand stop people walking in front of the technical area)
If you are able to help regularly or even occasionally please let Sina Graham, The Club’s Community Development Manager(firstname.lastname@example.org) know as soon as possible so that we can begin to build a rota.
If you have any questions about what is involved Alex Thomson (Ph 07845 231 733: e mail: email@example.com) will be happy to try to answer them.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU
