Edinburgh Rugby's opening home Guinness PRO12 league fixture against Leinster on Friday 4 September (kick-off 7.35pm) will be played at the home of Boroughmuir Rugby, Meggetland.
Edinburgh Rugby have played at the home of Boroughmuir Rugby before, notably in February 2014 in the win against Ospreys.
Last season they also played the home PRO12 fixture against Ospreys away from BT Murrayfield.
That match, at Myreside in February 2015, saw Edinburgh defeat the then-table toppers with a capital club debut from former Boroughmuir player Damien Hoyland, now part of the Scotland team to take on Italy tomorrow (22 August) in Turin.
Fellow Edinburgh squad members Magnus Bradbury – who made his PRO12 debut against Leinster last season – and Neil Cochrane also know the EH14 pitch well, having donned the blue and green of Boroughmuir Rugby during their playing careers.
Head coach Alan Solomons said: "We're pleased to be able to secure the pitch at Meggetland for this fixture, as it's near our home base and is a facility supporters will know from previous visits over recent years.
"I'd like to thank everyone involved at Boroughmuir, and Edinburgh Leisure, for their help in ensuring this important opening match against Leinster will go ahead and look forward to a full house cheering us on.”
For Boroughmuir Members, you can get your tickets from the Edinburgh Rugby ticket site here.
We can expect the car park to be closed, so please leave yourself time to come down.
The club house will be part of the Edinburgh Rugby Experience, so to gain access, make sure you get your ticket today and join in the fun!
