Boroughmuir 7s 2015!
The Boroughmuir Rugby 7s was won by Edinburgh on Saturday culminating in one sided final against hosts, Boroughmuir Rugby.
Edinburgh Rugby ran out comfortable winners, 35-0 retaining the Cup title they won last year. Edinburgh Rugby certainly produced a dominate display with a number of star players entertaining the crowd with well executed plays and counter attacking.
Boroughmuir Rugby never gave up on their challenge, finding gaps in the Edinburgh defence, either through the strength of Andy Rose or pace of Sep Visser. If not for a period at the start of the 1st half, allowing a number of easy tries in, it would have been a closer game.
Still, it was no easy effort getting to the final with RHC pushing the hosts in the semi-final right to the final whistle.
It should be noted, the stand out performance Howe of Fife produced in the semi-final against Edinburgh Rugby, resulting in very good game that the vocal crowed got behind.
The Plate final provided more a competition with Dundee HSFP beating Edinburgh University 21-19 in a pulsating final.
Thank you to all the teams who travelled to Meggetland for the 2015 Boroughmuir 7s and special thank you to Mike Baillie, Stevie Douglas and Justin Tito for organising the event and to the volunteers and officials who helped throughout the tournament to make it a very enjoyable day.
Next on the rugby calendar for Boroughmuir will be the Club Dinner on the 2nd May, tickets on sale now and the GB7s on the 30th May.
