Last week saw the return of Boroughmuir Rugby’s Holiday Rugby Camp at Meggetland.
With a bolstered coaching team in the shape of Lewis Robinson, Darren Miller, Rory Scott, Angus Wallace, Iain Martin, Arran Wilson and Gregor Tait, club development officer Ross Young looked to get the most from his troops by altering the running format as well the camp aims.
“Our camps have always been successful” said Young.
So what provoked this change in the programme?
“I wanted everyone to get the most out of the time they spend at the camp and so challenging the coaches to 1. Make sure that everyone has a great time and 2. Do our best to make sure everyone left after three days with us better at rugby and having learned something, seemed like a simple solution.”
To date all the feedback received has been very positive and so the goals will remain moving forward to future camps.
Boroughmuir Rugby's next holiday camp will be in the October school break and details will be available shortly.......watch this space.
On another note – this years Summer Camp was the final project in the pipeline for Boroughmuir Rugby’s modern apprentice community coach Lewis Robinson as he graduates from his two year course.
When reflecting on Lewis’s time on the programme Young said:
“Lewis’s contributions to the development programme over the past two years have been immense and on behalf of everyone at Boroughmuir I would like to thank him for all of his hard work and effort”.
On a positive note Lewis has enjoyed working in the programme so much that he has volunteered his services to support the ongoing work in our high schools again next year – He can’t escape Rosco’s clutches that easily.
