BOROUGHMUIR COLTS WIN HOWE OF FIFE 7'S DRUMMOND CUP
Boroughmuir Colts won the Drummond Cup in the final at Howe of Fife 7's tournament on Saturday. They started the tournament's first match in good fashion, and went on, getting better as the tournament progressed.
In the final against one of the best teams in the tournament, Hamilton, the colts played what can only be described as awesome 7's rugby.
In the match, they kept their shape perfectly the whole time. In defence, they were magnificent and their attack was simply just overwhelming, astounding, and quite fearsome. This was just the end of season that they could have hoped for, also demonstrating to the crowds what sort of rugby they have learned at Boroughmuir Rugby.
A large proportion of the colts are now finished due to age, but the good thing is that a goodly number intend entering senior rugby at the club next season. Others, who are moving on, have other things to go on to, but many have said they will always pop into Boroughmuir.
This was good for the coaches as well - Graham Scott, Craig Alexander, Sean Brady and for Ron Carr, this was his last match, who, after over 15 years coaching at the club, has decided that is long enough, and is moving on to other things
We all wish the very best to Ron and thank him for his unquestionable service to Boroughmuir Rugby over the years. From everyone at Boroughmuir Rugby, thank you Ron.
So, this was a great finish to the season for all of the colts and the club.
