Boroughmuir Rugby U15’s win over Glasgow Hawks in 7s Final
By Chris Pacey
The Boroughmuir Rugby Under 15's were invited to a sevens tournament at Scotstoun on New Years Day to show case the quality of Rugby from the two City's ahead of the Glasgow/ Edinburgh Cup Game.
The games were played on the back fields in horrendous conditions and the boys played really well considering.
The final was supposed to be played on the main pitch at Half time of the Glasgow game, but due to the game being cancelled the final was played on the back pitch which the Boroughmuir Boys won.
The other scores leading up to the final for Boroughmuir Under 15s were 12-0 v Biggar & 28-0 v RHC.
Boroughmuir U15s doing well not to have a try scored against them and that is down to their defence, maintaining possession and teamwork. All the boys played in all games being rotated every game.
A huge congratulations to not only the players who played on the day, but also all the other players in the Boroughmuir Rugby Under 15's squad this year who are having a great season.
Also a massive thank you to coaches Graham Hepburn, Nick Barrow and David Barker who have got the boys skills to such a high standard and made it such an enjoyable environment to play rugby and this shows by the huge numbers they get at training week in week out.
The under 15's train at Meggetland every Tuesday and Thursday from 8pm to 9pm so if you are interested feel free to pop down or contact our Development Officer Chris Pacey on boroughmuirdevelopmentofficer@gmail.com
