Boroughmuir S1 - 11 : 0 Heriots S1 (15 : 4 - after Development Period)
Sunday saw another excellent game of S1 rugby with the visit of Heriots to Meggetland.
Both teams were very committed all afternoon and had to work hard for their tries. The rucking of Heriots was first class and Muir need to be quicker to the breakdown to allow us to get the ball out to our backs.
The first try came from a big tackle with Heriots spilling the ball, allowing us to pick up and run on from the 22m line. The resulting conversion hitting the cross bar.
There were several chances in the first half but the defences held firm and Boroughmuir led 3 - 0 at the break.
The second half was much the same, with Muir managing to get through the Heriots defence for two converted tries. Full Time 11 - 0
The development period saw a few changes and again a very competitive 20 minutes of rugby.
Heriots scored first with a well worked try to score in the corner before Muir levelled the period with a try created by a good break and offload to touch down under the posts.
A good display from Boroughmuir again this week with a few areas to work on at training for our upcoming games against Ayr & GHA.
Thanks to Heriots for a great game and we look forward to the return fixture in January.
