Boroughmuir S1's at Murrayfield
Boroughmuir: 3 tries - Kirkcaldy U14's: 7 tries
The S1's were invited down to Murrayfield to play against a combined Watsons/Murrayfield Wanderers side and Kirkcaldy.
Our first game was against Kirkcaldy U14's, who with only six S1's in their team were mainly an S2 side. The physical size and strength was apparent with a number of the Kirkcaldy players but our S1's stuck to the challenge throughout the game.
The S1's played some great rugby and for most of the were a match in the rucks and contact areas and competed well. The main difference between the two sides was the strong running of the big Kirkcaldy No.15, who ran in 4 tries with relative ease, Muir scored 3 well deserved and well worked tries to give a good show against an older Kirkcaldy side.
Boroughmuir: 2 tries - Watsons/Murrayfield: 3 tries
After having the next game off, the S1's were a bit slow out the blocks and WM capitalised in the first half scoring 2 quick tries. As the game went on the S1's got back in to their stride to win the 2nd half by 2 tries to 1.
An excellent days rugby for the S1's and good experience to play against two good sides, especially an older age group which the S1's really enjoyed playing against.
