Boroughmuir S1/S2 - 14 : 4 - Musselburgh S1/S2
Boroughmuir 14 (Tries: Gavin Inkster 2, Findlay Devine, Cameron Scott. Con: Calum Anderson 2) Musselburgh 4
Musselburgh brought up an S1/S2 combined team to Meggetland so we merged our S1/S2's on a perfect afternoon for rugby.
The first period was a close affair with only 1 try separating the teams. Musselburgh started the strongest in the opening minutes but soon the team began to gel together and started to play some excellent rugby.
After the break the team came out strong and soon scored a second to increase their lead. This was followed by a pick-up by S2, Findlay, on the half way line to break a couple of tackles and run in under the posts.
Try of the game for Boroughmuir came in the Development Period. After some great hands from a number of both S1 & S2's to set up Camie down the wing to sprint in from the 22 to score. Musselburgh scored a well deserved try near the end of the game to bring the game to a close. A well deserved hard fought win against a good Musselburgh side.
Considering the boys had not played together before the overall performance was very good with some great defence, tackling and strong running. This was a good exercise as there will be more games this season where we need to merge our S1 & S2's to play some opposition without separate age group teams.
Well done to both Boroughmuir and Musselburgh who served up and excellent and entertaining game of rugby.
