Hello All!
My name is Elizabeth Brough, or Lizzie as you’ll get to know me as, and I want to say a big hi to you all. I’ve been appointed as Community Development Manager here at Boroughmuir Rugby and Community Sports Club. I’m excited to be taking on this new role, looking forward to getting to know you all as members and building on the work already done to create strong, long lasting relationships with our local sports clubs and community groups.
With 17 sports clubs currently operating out of Meggetland, we have an incredible opportunity to develop a real focal point; a community hub here at Boroughmuir. For those of you keeping a keen eye on the website updates, you’ll have caught up with the news of the announced plans for the re-design which will be instrumental in providing a welcoming and flexible environment for all these clubs and the local groups. Check it out, if you hadn’t had a chance yet.
We aim to attract all-round use of the facility. My role will see me out in the community, speaking directly to groups who could benefit from using the multifunctional spaces. We already have a basis of community use to build on, and I will work to enhance these relationships and foster new ones.
I’ll be outlining users’ needs of the space and opportunities to build revenue through increased use of the club. I am looking forward to being part of the exciting developments here at Boroughmuir, and ensuring that we shine out as an example of a welcoming, well-run facility.
