We want your Feedback

We are keen to hear how we have been doing so far this season

Boroughmuir Rugby & Community Sports Club (BR&CSC) is committed to being a professional, community based, ethical sporting organisation within Edinburgh and over the last 8 months there have been some fundamental changes in the way BR&CSC communicates to you, our club members, supporters and members of the public.

The new direction the club is working towards resulted in a few changes in key positions.

In July 2012 you helped us by taking part in our first ‘Communications Survey’ to express your thoughts and opinions on what we are doing right and what we could work on to do better. We will be asking for your help in another survey towards the end of the current season.
Some of the main findings from the survey showed that:

  • 90% of the responses said they want more Club News from our website
  • 82% preferred their updates to come via e-mail
  • 52% said we do not communicate enough Team Rugby News outside the 1stXV
  • 46% believe we could do better about keeping people informed about Club Business
Feedback Stats on Comms

The comments you provided to us:

• I would like to see more Youth Section news about the teams.
• Total pro-active approach and openness in all communications to club members and other stakeholders
• Website requires major overhaul
• Business contacts within the club membership
• Better information on the club’s financial situation
• All teams, not just first (and include kids on a Sunday!)
• The website is good and easy to navigate however there are periods when it's not updated as fast as I would like. Some redundant news hangs around too long which gives the impression it's not being updated although this isn't always the case
• Generally the regular emails that I get are pretty good up[dates (sic)
• More photos on Facebook
• Wider club news on current affairs i.e 2's, bears, youth section and social as well as other community clubs

The response in the survey was over whelming, which told us we had not asked for your feedback as often as we should be. This will change going forward.
As a result of your feedback we have made some changes to our communications and channels to meet the changing requirements, technology and content you have asked for.

Boroughmuir Communications Channels

Change takes time and we are only moving forward at a pace where we can introduce these changes and make sure they work before moving onto the next project. In saying that we have some exciting developments in early 2013 e.g. Downloadable Free Match Programme.

The Communications Team are continually developing and learning with every month as with a new team, new skills and experience needs to be built up. We have developed our channels to be easy and open to contribute towards but we could also do with volunteers to help.

Firstly if you are interested in writing a regular column or piece, we are keen to hear from you. We love different opinions, why not share it?

Secondly, please continue to contact us with any feedback about anything we do or could be doing more. Maybe you have a spare hour you can provide some help to the club, have a question how to get into coaching, a question on the shop opening hours, a question on missing match reports where you can offer some help?

Our contacts page can be found here, but if you wanted to e-mail us here are our details.
