Boroughmuir Rugby Academy is delighted to announce the new appointment of Alex Toolis as the Academy and Performance Manager. Alex will start his role with Boroughmuir on the 5th January.
Alex is very well known figure in rugby, and has experienced professional rugby for over 10 years. Originally from Australia where he played for GPS Old Boys in Brisbane.
He then joined Edinburgh Rugby back in 2013, along with his twin brother Ben, and has also played with London Irish, Glasgow, Melbourne Rebels, as well as coached in both Japan and France.
Alex also graduated in 2021 with Distinction in Bachelor of Arts in Business and Enterprise in Sport at Edinburgh Napier University and has more recently been employed as the Youth Development Officer at Livingston RFC.
Alex is hugely passionate about working with diverse team environments, supporting, and encouraging rugby from a grass roots level, developing athleticism, inclusivity and most importantly, fun rugby playing sessions for all age groups. Alex believes that his future career and passion lies with the driving, developing and delivery of rugby performance from a young age to club rugby and beyond - a great fit for our Youth Academy covering all our Youth age groups, as well as leading our successful Player Development Programme.
The Academy has seen massive growth, and success, over the last few years and we now have over 420 players & 90 Coaches from our P1 to U18 age groups.
