A warm welcome back!
It’s been a long time coming, but it looks like we’ll be able to open our (patio) doors again!
As I am sure you will be aware, guidance from the Scottish Government means that bars cafés and restaurants with suitable outdoor space can open from Monday 6th July, so long as appropriate distancing measures are in place.
As you know, our patio and terrace overlooking the stadium pitch makes for an ideal location, and we’ll be opening from 12 noon on Monday.
Chris, Angus and an army of volunteers have been working hard to make sure we are ready and fully compliant with all government guidance. We’ve cleaned, painted, polished the floors, put up signage and perspex shields, and polished the floor again. We’ve submitted our risk assessment, and we’re ready to welcome you all back.
We’ll be offering our normal range of teas, coffees, and the bar will be fully open. We’ll also be offering bar snacks, pies etc. We’ll look to expand our food offering once we get a few days under our belt.
Until measures are relaxed further, we’ll have to follow social distancing guidelines that we are all used to in order to protect staff and customers alike. This will include a 1-way system, controlled access to toilets, and appropriate spacing of tables/chairs on the patio. We will also be encouraging table service to prevent congregation at the bar. Contactless payments will be required. Please follow staff guidance and signage on all aspects of your visit.
One condition of opening is that we are required to record contact names and numbers for everyone who attends. We have to hold this information securely for 4 weeks for COVID tracing purposes in the event of positive testing. We appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to predict is how busy we’ll be. Certainly, there are few outdoor options in our area, and word has spread that we will be open. As an exclusive offer to club members have the ability to book a table. Bookings must be made a minimum 24 hours in a. Members should have received instructions on how to book earlier today, if you didn't receive that information then email Alex at club.secretary@boroughmuirsports.co.uk.
If you provide names and numbers of those who will be attending at the time, that will save providing this information when you arrive. You can also arrange food in advance. Currently, there is no limit to a booking duration, but this may evolve as we progress.
So, I hope to see you all soon if you can make it down to Meggetland.
In the meantime, stay safe!
