Boroughmuir Rugby & Community Sports Club (BR&CSC) has announced a new sponsor for the season 2012/13.
AMA New Town has been attracted to BR&CSC by its new approach to the development of community sport and is delighted to support the club as it sets out to achieve its new sporting ambitions.
Having attracted a new sponsor to the club and to the sport of rugby, BR&CSC was successful in its application for sponsorship match funding from sportsmatch.
Bill Watson, Chairman of BR&CSC said: “This is a massive boost in the Club’s community programme. In supporting Boroughmuir Rugby & Community Sports Club, sportsmatch has recognised the major changes that have been undertaken at the club over the last year and are excited to see AMA New Town, as a new sponsor in Scottish sport.”
The Club is directing the substantial investment – more than £17,000 – toward its youth and community development. The sponsorship and match funding will enable the Club’s Development Officer to increase the amount of work undertaken in the local community and with local schools, and will support the Youth Section teams with new equipment and essential coaching education programmes for Club volunteers.
Mike Afshar, Managing Director of AMA New Town said the company was delighted to support the BR&CSC and all that it is trying to achieve.
“We have been particularly attracted to the Club because of its ambitious outlook both on and off the pitch and we hope that with the additional sportsmatch funding, we see many more young people getting involved in sporting participation over the next year and enjoying themselves in the Meggetland Community”.
Bill Watson continued: “Being able to attract sponsorship from AMA New Town and the match funding is testament to the hard work put in by all the Club’s members to create the Community Club. This dedication has now been recognised and we have been given the opportunity to start delivering on our new strategy”.
