Boroughmuir Rugby & Community Sports Club (BR&CSC) can today announce a new partnership with leading sportswear manufacturer Surridge Sport, part of the SDL Group.
For the first time the partnership also includes a ‘joint approach’ with a number of multi-sport clubs based at Meggetland. Edinburgh Hockey, Boroughmuir Cricket, Boroughmuir Thistle FC, Boroughmuir Ladies Hockey, Colinton Barbarians (American Football) and Boroughmuir Rugby.
The partnership not only will see Surridge Sport produce all performance and replica kit for the club’s at Senior and Youth levels but will also provide a comprehensive online retail channel for the clubs gaining a new source of revenue.
Surridge Sport is one of the oldest sports brands in the world. The established legacy came to exist in 1867. Since 2005 the Surridge brand has continued to move from strength to strength, taking on new challenges and moving in more directions.
The brand now supplies playing and training wear to professional cricket clubs and football clubs as well as various Schools, Colleges and Universities.
The ‘joint approach’ project with the Meggetland clubs started with former BR&CSC Director, Justin Tito.
“As part of our commitment to become a more sustainable sports club, we knew a joint approach would put us in a better position, rather than clubs going it alone. We are delighted all the Meggetland clubs have come together to partner with Surridge Sports, an established and modern company that can support each of the clubs with our future requirements.”
Charles Lord, Managing Director of Surridge Sport said:
‘We are proud as a company to announce our new partnership with Boroughmuir Rugby & Community Sports Club and look forward to providing high performance garments to all teams.’
Phil Trodden (Community Sport Hub Coordinator) supported and took learnings to share with other community clubs.
“It has been great to be involved in this process and really reflects the ethos of what community sport hubs are all about- getting clubs to work together for their greater good. The clubs involved in this project are excellent examples of forward thinking, enterprising clubs with strong ties to their community and through coming together to attract a single kit supplier shows a joined up commitment to developing not just their club, but also the others that have a share in the project.”
