The Magic 2s headed to Glasgow looking to topple the league leaders....and topple them they did.
In fact I would say that if Edinburgh needs to pull down more tower blocks then get this team in to do the job properly as they destroyed this big Hawks pack and went right through the back line.
It is difficult to single out players but extra praise should be given to Andy Clark in the boiler house who was called in last minute and played through 'Man Flu' as well as Rab Cairns at the ripe old age of 103yrs old scored a great 70m try (then came off) to be fair it was late in the game.
Tthe whole squad from 1 to 21 played exceptionally well and looked like a well organised unit with power all over the park. In these games you can start to do silly things and bring on a 7s style as you push ahead but they stuck to the task and executed well.
7-17 at half time and a final score of 12-62 showed that a winning streak can give you confidence to play an expansive game.
Along with that a few guys getting a well deserved shot in the 1st XV shows the strength in depth we have. Hopefully the top guys can start to win too and show that Boroughmuir Rugby is once again a force to be reckoned with.
The Magis 2s coaches were asked about their thoughts after the game and it was an easy reply for them.
"Lots to work on, lots to learn and lots of drinks please........ tough game next week as we paly Heriots at Nail-Acre...bring it on!"
