As most of you will be aware earlier this summer I took up a role on the board as Director for Rugby and it offers me a massive opportunity to be part of one of the most exciting changes undertaken by the club in its history.
Becoming a community sports club takes Boroughmuir out of Meggetland and to the far wider sporting community in South West Edinburgh. It positions us at the heart of national and local sports strategy and I think that is a massive step as it also takes us out of our comfort zone. Edinburgh is a competitive club rugby environment with four clubs in the top league and many more just below.
The process of becoming a community sports club gives us the chance to put in place structures and systems that will make Boroughmuir stand out from the crowd and drive us toward where we are definitely most comfortable, the very top of club rugby.
I hope to see some of you this weekend at Aberdeen and many more of you around Meggetland during the course of the season.
